Dear valued customer,
During these extraordinary times, with the ongoing spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), on Monday, 23 March 2020, President Ramaphosa outlined a comprehensive 21-day national lockdown plan. Aimed at flattening the curve of infection, the national lockdown will begin on Thursday, 26 March, from 23:59, and last for three weeks. With this in mind, I want to take this opportunity to share with you the measures Liberty Promenade is putting in place to ensure your safety and wellbeing at all times when visiting for essential services only.
As outlined by President Ramaphosa in his speech on Monday night, grocery stores, pharmacies, banks and other essential industries will remain open during the 21-day national shutdown. Liberty Promenade’s lockdown trading hours are as follows:
Pick ‘n Pay will trade from 8am – 6pm Mondays to Saturdays, 8am – 5pm Sundays and offer special trading hours for pensioners on Wednesdays between 7am – 8am.
The following Liberty Promenade stores will be trading during the lockdown: Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Game,
Dis-Chem, Clicks, Nu Crane Pharmacy, ABSA, Standard Bank, Nedbank, FNB, African Bank, Capitec Bank (entrance 1 branch), BP Service station and the Post Office (for SASSA payouts only).
Please note, only the following entrances will be open during the lockdown period:
Entrance 1, Entrance 2 and Entrance 3.
With your health and safety as our number-one priority, we apply the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout Liberty Promenade. Following President Ramaphosa’s speech on Sunday, 15 March, increased cleaning and hygiene protocols have been implemented, including increased frequency of cleaning cycles. Simultaneously, we have instructed all our retail partners to place the same stringent measures to ensure the safety of shoppers, tenants and staff. Information detailing the various additional precautionary measures have been displayed throughout the mall and on our social media channels, as a means to further educate all shoppers, tenants and employees.
With these new stringent measures in place, we have instructed all retail partners, including essential services tenants, to contact Centre Management immediately should they become aware of any confirmed cases of COVID-19. Centre Management will then work in tandem with the retail partner and relevant health authority to offer every support needed from communicating this to the public, tenants and employees, and additional deep cleaning within the centre. Please note, our normal security complement will be on-site.
As recommended by the World Health Organization and local health authorities, we remind customers to:
On the recommendation pertaining to physical distancing and on the basis of the prohibition of large gatherings and events that draw crowds, we wish to advise you that events and activations that were due to be hosted at the mall have been cancelled and/or postponed with immediate effect.
For the coming three weeks, we will be adhering to the President’s national lockdown instructions, but let us all remember that the 21st Century has us all connected thanks to technology, and we remain connected and online daily. Please visit our social media channels for regular updates on essential services tenants and trading hours.
While we continue to operate in a responsible manner, any new directives from the Government will be communicated immediately to all stakeholders, shoppers, tenants, teams and communities via our social media channels.
Thank you for your support and patronage. We wish all our customers the very best during these difficult times. Together, we will #flattenthecurve.
